555 Amanda Announces New UK General Manager
Seafood Supplier 555 Amanda Strengthens Commitment to UK Market
555 Amanda, a renowned seafood supplier based in Denmark, has announced the appointment of Gavin McLean as its new UK General Manager. This strategic move comes as part of a newly established UK entity, reflecting the company’s dedication to meeting the growing demands of chefs, manufacturers, and the fish and chip sector for its acclaimed sustainable seafood products.
A Proven Leader Takes the Helm
Having supported 555 Amanda as a sales consultant for the past two years, Gavin is well-prepared to embark on this larger role, driving the success of the company in the UK. His expertise in navigating market barriers, securing significant retail listings, and establishing distinctive brands positions him as a valuable asset for 555 Amanda’s growth.
Gavin’s specialization in commercial strategy and growth planning will be instrumental in accelerating the expansion across various channels, including fish and chip shops, food manufacturers, wholesalers, and the food service industry.
Leadership Structure and Support
In his new role, Gavin will report directly to Lars Fey, Export Director of Insula, the parent company of 555 Amanda. This organizational shift aims to bring UK sales operations closer to the home market.
Additionally, Stephen Minall will join forces with Gavin as a Non-Executive Director to help drive UK sales. A well-known investor and director of Moving Food Ltd, Minall has a proven track record of launching successful food concepts within the UK retail and catering sectors.
Looking Ahead: Growth and Innovation
In his comments regarding the appointment, Gavin expressed enthusiasm for the opportunities that lie ahead: “We’re delighted to start 2026 with a dedicated UK operation for 555 Amanda. This structure will enable faster growth and give customers stronger local support. It will allow us to accelerate 555 Amanda’s expansion across fish and chip shops, food manufacturers, wholesalers, and food service channels.”
555 Amanda has garnered accolades in recent years, including the ‘Best New Ingredient’ award for its ASC certified Salmon Roulade at the 2025 Sammies (British Sandwich & Food to Go Industry Awards) and ‘Food Service Product of the Year’ at the 2024 QFAs (Quality Food Awards). The company also initiated the UK Fish & Chip Shop Content Creator Awards, focusing on driving user-generated content across its platforms. As 2026 unfolds, 555 Amanda is poised to capitalize on this momentum and further enhance its presence in the market.
