Aviagen is excited to announce Derrick Tice’s appointment as the new President of Aviagen North America, effective immediately. With a wealth of experience spanning over 15 years within the organization, Tice is well-equipped to lead the company’s next phase of growth and innovation.
Experience and Background
Throughout his tenure at Aviagen, Tice has successfully navigated various roles, each time showcasing remarkable expertise and leadership. His career path includes positions as:
- Grandparent Poultry Specialist
- Quality Assurance Manager
- Operations Manager
- Director of Quality Assurance
- Vice President of Live Production
In each of these roles, Tice has excelled in production operations, flock health and welfare, biosecurity measures, and quality management, establishing himself as a pivotal figure in organizational performance.
Prior Experience
Before his current role, Tice also contributed his skills at Boehringer Ingelheim. There, he honed his commercial acumen and strengthened relationships throughout the poultry supply chain. As the US Poultry Strategic Account Manager, Tice effectively drove growth by utilizing teamwork, management insights, and an unwavering customer-focused philosophy.
Military Service
Adding to his impressive credentials, Tice proudly served in the Alabama Army National Guard for 20 years, ultimately retiring at the rank of Major. His military background instills a sense of discipline, strong leadership, and focus on mission success, which he applies to his role in supporting the Aviagen team and its customers.
Academic Credentials
Tice holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture, with a specialization in Poultry Science Management, from Mississippi State University.
