Aviagen Appoints Charlotte Commins as President of British Veterinary Poultry Association
Aviagen® has announced the appointment of Charlotte Commins, Company Veterinarian, as the President of the British Veterinary Poultry Association (BVPA) for a two-year term.
Charlotte, who brings a wealth of experience in poultry veterinary medicine, previously served on the BVPA committee as Treasurer and more recently as Junior Vice President.

As President, Charlotte will lead the BVPA’s efforts to promote poultry veterinary medicine through education, research, and collaboration. She will serve as a crucial link between the veterinary profession, Government bodies, NGOs, and the wider poultry sector to shape policies that ensure bird health and sustainable food production. Her leadership aims to advance knowledge and support veterinary professionals to help the UK poultry sector thrive responsibly.

At the BVPA spring meeting in Harrogate, England, outgoing President Michael Clark commended Charlotte’s appointment, highlighting her years of service on the BVPA committee and her diverse background in poultry practice. He emphasized the importance of capable women like Charlotte in key positions within the profession.
