dsm-firmenich Secures EU Authorisation for Hy-D® in Aquaculture and All Animal Species

dsm-firmenich Animal Nutrition & Health is excited to announce that its product Hy-D®, a potent form of 25-hydroxycholecalciferol (25-OH-D₃) derived from Saccharomyces cerevisiae CBS 146008, has received new European Union (EU) authorisation. This approval encompasses its use in salmonids, various fish species, and all other animal categories, significantly broadening Hy-D®’s scope which has already included EU authorisation for pigs, poultry, and ruminants since 2024.

• Proof of Safety from a Unique Production Process: The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) has validated the safety and effectiveness of Hy-D® derived from Saccharomyces cerevisiae CBS 146008 for all animal species, as well as for consumers, users, and the environment.
