Yarding 3980 Change -1220
3980 cattle were scanned in Gunnedah. 1200 less then the previous week. It was a mixed quality yarding predominantly made up of cows weaners and yearling type cattle. All major buyers were present. Light cattle to the restocker were cheaper however all grades of cows as well as prime heavy cattle were dearer.
Young cattle to the trade made from 336c to 470c/kg. Yearling steers to feed were 20c to 30c dearer and ranged from 438c to 508c while the heifers were 5c cheaper and more in places to make between 370c and 475c/kg. Light cattle to the restocker were also cheaper the steers made between 390c and 534c to average 465c/kg the heifers made from 320c to 412c/kg.
Prime heavy cattle to the processor improved in quality and price to range between 357c and 468c/kg. Cows were 15c to 25c dearer across the board. 2 and 3 score cows made from 244c to 334c/kg. Prime heavy weight cows made between 322c and 375c to average 351c/kg. Cows going back to the paddock ranged from 295c to 340c and the best bulls got to 382c/kg.
