Potandon Produce Announces CEO Retirement and Succession Plan
Potandon Produce, a major provider of fresh potatoes in North America, has announced the retirement of Mel Davenport, the company’s chief executive officer, after over 30 years of service. Davenport’s tenure was marked by significant milestones such as the launch of Klondike Goldust and Klondike Rose potatoes and the CarbSmart line. Succeeding him as CEO is David Lawrence, former CEO of Fresh Direct, effective immediately.
During Davenport’s leadership, Potandon experienced substantial growth and innovation in the fresh produce market. He played a pivotal role in strengthening the company’s market position, expanding product offerings, and fostering a culture of excellence and sustainability.
