Roma Agents penned 4,764 head a reduction of 1,300 head from the previous sale. Cattle were drawn from the large supply district as well as NSW. All the regular buyers attending and active. A quality yarding penned with the market solid to dearer especially cows which could have been 35c/kg stronger.
Yearling steers under 200kg topped 504c/kg to restockers. Yearling steers 200 to 280kg sold from 300c to 534c/kg to restockers. Yearling steers 280 to 330kg made from 300c to 526c/kg to restockers. Yearling steers 330 to 400kg topped 526c to average 445c/kg to restockers. Yearling steers 400 to 480kg selling from 340c to 442c/kg to Lot feeders. Yearling steers over 480kg sold to 412c to Lot Feeders and 430c/kg to processors.
Yearling heifers under 200kg topped 320c/kg to restockers. Yearling heifers 200 to 280kg sold from 234c to 400c/kg to restockers. Yearling heifers 280 to 330kg made from 232c to 382c/kg to restockers. Yearling heifers 330 to 400kg topped 400c to Lot Feeders and 372c/kg to restockers. Yearling heifers 400 to 480kg selling from 332c to 415c/kg to processors. Yearling heifers over 480kg sold to 416c/kg to processors.
Grown steers 400 to 500kg made to 350c/kg to restockers. Grown steers 500 to 600kg sold from 350c to 382c/kg to processors. Grown steers over 600kg sold to 452c/kg to processors. Grown heifers over 540kg sold to 412c/kg to processors.
With a very large reduction in the cow numbers, all cows were well sort after. The score 4 topped 369c/kg to processors. The 3 score cows over 520kg made to 374c to average 336c/kg to processors. The 2 score cows 400 to 520kg sold from 200c to 304c/kg to processors. Bulls 450 to 600kg made from 350 to 372c/kg to restockers. Bulls over 600kg made to 414c/kg to processors.

Highlights
There was a reduction in numbers at this week’s Tuesday cattle sale following the Labour Day public holiday in Queensland on Monday.
Cattle hailed from across Queensland and New South Wales and the regular buyers, feedlotters and backgrounders were among the laneways and competing for the yarding consisting of just over 4,700 head.
A large portion of the yarding was drawn from the Maranoa supply district including the areas of Jackson, Mitchell, Mungallala, Surat and Wallumbilla.
Cattle also travelled from far afield to go under the hammer, from McKinlay in the north, Adavale, Augathella, Eromanga, Cunnamulla and Windorah in the west and Glen Innes in the south.
DrayCo Beef of ‘Finsbury Park’, Roma, offloaded Charolais cross steers, selling to 524c/kg, to weigh 306kg and receive $1,605/hd.
With five pens of steers on offer, four of the pens sold to 526c/kg.
The heaviest pen weighed in at 337kg and returned $1,775/hd.
DrayCo Beef also sold Charolais cross heifers at this week’s sale, with the heifers fetching 377c/kg, averaging 271kg and making $1,023/hd.
One pen of heifers sold to 376c/kg, weighing in at 299kg and receiving a return of $1,126/hd.

Nugent Farming sold Angus steers and Angus heifers at this week’s sale, with the steers fetching 526c/kg, to weigh 245kg and average $1,293/hd, and the heifers selling to 363c/kg, weighing in at 233kg and returning $847/hd.
Travelling from ‘Balaclava’, Glen Innes, New South Wales to go to market, four pens of Nugent Farming’s steers sold to 534c/kg.
The heaviest pen of the four pens averaged 267kg and received $1,428/hd.
Two pens of Nugent Farming’s heifers sold to 376c/kg, the heaviest of the two pens weighing in at 254kg and returning $958/hd.

One pen of Charolais cross steers fetched 516c/kg to weigh 324kg and receive $1,674/hd.
A pen of Limousin cross steers sold to 506c/kg, weighing in at 356kg and returning $1,804/hd.
Along with offloading steers at this week’s sale, DA & KL York also sold heifers, selling to 365c/kg, weighing 282kg and averaging $1,031/hd.
One pen of Limousin cross heifers sold to 374c/kg, to weigh 291kg and make $1,090/hd.
Another pen of Limousin cross heifers fetched 382c/kg, weighing in at 289kg and receiving a return of $1,106/hd.

Weaner steers under 200kg topped at 504c/kg and averaged 479c/kg, weaner steers in the 200-280kg range reached 534c/kg and averaged 470c/kg. Steers in the 280-330kg range reached 526c/kg and averaged 458c/kg, and steers in the 330-400kg range reached 526c/kg and averaged 449c/kg. Feeder steers in the 400-500kg range topped at 442c/kg and averaged 421c/kg.
