Undercurrent has launched a proprietary China wholesale seafood pricing platform, with weekly assessments covering key imported species that accounted for nearly $12 billion in trade value in 2025.
UCN‘s China wholesale pricing platform carries proprietary wholesale prices for:
- Frozen vannamei shrimp Ecuador
- Frozen red shrimp from Argentina
- American lobster
- Rock lobster from Australia and New Zealand
- Vietnamese green lobster
- Russian red king crab from the Barents Sea and Far East
- Russian blue and brown king crab from the Far East
- Farmed salmon from Australia, Chile, Faroe Islands, Norway and the UK
- Argentine shortfin squid, small and large jumbo flying squid
UCN will also add China wholesale prices for Russian pollock and tuna in the coming weeks.
All pricing is published weekly on UCN‘s platform and included in weekly market commentaries.

As for the size of trade covered, you can see below that the value across all imports of the species covered was $11.73bn in 2025, accounting for 1.73 million metric tons.
Shrimp is the number one imported species, followed by squid/cuttlefish, crab, salmon, rock lobster and American lobster.
