Undercurrent has launched an artificial intelligence (AI) research and summary tool trained on its extensive archive of proprietary seafood reporting.

The AI tool, AskUCN, allows users to interact with close to 14 years of exclusive reporting on seafood pricing, trade flows, supply shifts, mergers and acquisitions and company news. Click here to get going. 

AskUCN allows users to interact with UCN‘s exclusive content that is not available on other large language models such as ChatGPT, Claude and Grok, as it is behind our paywall.

During the launch period, the tool is available to all UCN subscribers before becoming part of our Pro subscription in the next few weeks.

The next step for AskUCN will be to link the tool to our 4,000-plus pricing datasets, trade data platform and supply portal.

AskUCN is also the first part of UCN‘s AI strategy, with the next stage being the development of a model context protocol (MCP) offering.

An MCP server will allow customers’ AI agents to access UCN‘s pricing, news, market commentary and data directly.
