A Memorable Evening at the Australian Stockman’s Hall of Fame
On a beautiful Friday night, the vaulted great hall of the Australian Stockman’s Hall of Fame in Longreach served as the perfect backdrop to honor three remarkable rural achievers. The highlight of the evening was the installation of the bronze Zanda McDonald Award trophy at Poet’s Corner, attended by over 100 guests from across Queensland.

Celebrating Achievements
Hosted by the Rural Press Club of Queensland, this celebratory event also marked the induction of esteemed agricultural journalists Jon Condon and Peter Lewis into the Queensland Rural Journalism Hall of Fame.
Established by Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Phillip in 1988, the Australian Stockman’s Hall of Fame honors the contributions of pioneers in rural Australia and represents a rich history that continues to drive the agricultural sector forward.

The event also featured the installation of the Zanda McDonald Award trophy, commemorating the late cattleman’s considerable influence in agriculture, leadership, and mentorship across Australia and New Zealand.
