Coca-Cola Appoints New CEO: Henrique Braun Takes the Helm
The Coca-Cola Company has announced a significant leadership change as it prepares for a new chapter in its history. Henrique Braun, the company’s Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, has been appointed as CEO, effective March 31. He will succeed James Quincey, who will transition to the role of Executive Chairman after a transformative nine-year tenure as CEO.
James Quincey: A Legacy of Transformation
During his time as CEO, Quincey, now 60, spearheaded the company’s evolution into a total beverage provider, introducing over 10 new billion-dollar brands. His strategic vision and operational adjustments helped create a more responsive and interconnected organization. Furthermore, Quincey’s leadership was pivotal during the COVID-19 pandemic, guiding the company through unprecedented challenges.
“James Quincey is a transformative leader,” stated David Weinberg, Coca-Cola’s lead independent director. “He set and executed a strategy that has solidified Coca-Cola’s position as a global leader. His new role will keep him actively engaged with the business.”
Henrique Braun’s Vision as CEO
In his new role as CEO, Braun intends to capitalize on growth opportunities globally, enhancing the company’s connection with consumers and integrating technology to boost business performance.
“I’m honored to take on this new role and deeply appreciate everything James has contributed to Coca-Cola,” Braun remarked. “My focus will be on maintaining the momentum we’ve established and working closely with our bottlers to unlock future growth.”
Braun’s Impressive Track Record
Having joined Coca-Cola in 1996, Braun has steadily climbed the ranks within the organization. Since January 1, he has served as EVP and COO, overseeing the company’s global operating units. His experience includes roles such as Senior Vice President and President of International Development from 2023 to 2024, and leadership positions in the Latin America and Brazil divisions from 2016 to 2022.
A Bright Future for Coca-Cola
Coca-Cola, which operates in more than 200 countries and territories, boasts a diverse portfolio that includes iconic brands such as Coca-Cola, Sprite, and Fanta, among others. With Braun at the helm, the company is poised to continue its legacy of innovation and excellence.
