Yarding 5200 Change -800
5200 cattle were scanned in Gunnedah, 800 less then last week. It was a fair quality yarding consisting of predominantly cows, weaner and yearling type cattle. All major buyers were present as overnight local rain helped fuel an overall stronger market.
Young trade cattle to the processor were limited. They ranged from 350c to 470c/kg. Yearling steers to feed were 10c to 15c dearer they made between 428c and 490c to average 464c/kg. The heifers were dearer by 20c and more in places to range between 406c and 470c/kg. Light cattle to the restocker were also considerably dearer the steers topped at 528c while the heifers reached 460c/kg.
Prime grown cattle to the processor made between 310c and 442c/kg. The cow market improved by 15 to 20c 2 score cows to the processor made between 250c and 290c/kg. 3 score cows were 280c to 325c and prime heavy weight cows ranged from 300 to 364c to average 335c/kg. Cows going back to paddock made from 225c to 325c/kg and the best bulls made to 390c/kg
