Cattle Prices
Young Cattle to the Trade
Young cattle directed to the trade experienced a drop of up to 20 cents, with prime vealers and yearlings ranging between 386 to 460 cents per kilogram. Meanwhile, feeder steers and heifers dropped by 10 to 15 cents, with feeder steers priced from 378 to 508 cents/kg.
Feeder heifers maintained a price range of 330 to 446 cents/kg. For restockers and backgrounders, young cattle remained relatively stable, with young steers reaching up to 549 cents and heifers selling to restockers at 424 cents/kg.
Grown Cattle
Grown steers and heifers noted a 6-cent drop, with prime grown steers priced between 390 and 476 cents/kg, while prime grown heifers sold for 406 to 442 cents/kg. Cows showed a fairly stable market, decreasing by 5 cents at most, with 2 and 3 scores going to processors at 318 to 390 cents/kg.
Prime heavyweight cows recorded prices from 378 to 416 cents/kg, averaging 397 cents/kg. Bulls were sold at a consistent 389 cents/kg.
