About the Scholarship
The scholarship was launched to celebrate Scotland’s first-ever hosting of the MICHELIN Guide Ceremony for Great Britain & Ireland. It aims to support a talented Scottish chef as they elevate their culinary career. One winner will have the chance to spend five days learning from Executive Chef John Williams MBE and his acclaimed team at The Ritz—a rare experience for any chef.
Application Details
The deadline for applications is Friday, June 13th. Chefs from all over Scotland are encouraged to apply for a chance to receive world-class training while representing Scotland’s exceptional culinary landscape.
The Culinary Scene in Scotland
With restaurants such as Andrew Fairlie at Gleneagles and The Glenturret Lalique holding two MICHELIN Stars, as well as 11 additional one-starred establishments, Scotland’s fine dining scene is flourishing. This scholarship is designed to support and inspire the next generation of chefs to continue this momentum.
Eligibility and Selection Criteria
Applications are open to chefs with a minimum of five years of experience in a professional kitchen. Judges will be evaluating candidates based on their passion, ambition, and commitment to using Scottish produce. Finalists will be interviewed, with the winner announced at the Scotland Food & Drink Excellence Awards on Thursday, September 4th, at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Glasgow.
