Moa Technology and Certis Belchim Forge Strong Industry Partnership

Moa Technology has made headlines with the announcement of a strategic collaboration alongside Certis Belchim, representing its third significant industry partnership within the past 18 months. This alliance reflects the increasing interest surrounding Moa’s herbicide discovery platforms and the innovative Moa Amplifier™ technology.

Focused Development on Novel Molecules

The partnership is geared towards the co-development of a groundbreaking Moa Amplifier molecule for a particular active ingredient. This initiative aims to empower farmers to protect their crops in a manner that is safer, more sustainable, and highly effective.

Innovative Modes of Action for Sustainable Agriculture

Introduced in August 2025, Moa Amplifiers denote a revolutionary class of molecules that, while non-herbicidal in isolation, can markedly decrease the quantity or concentration of herbicides needed in agricultural practices. This breakthrough supports critical objectives related to productivity and environmental stewardship, especially in light of escalating regulatory pressures and resistance challenges that farmers face worldwide.

Utilizing its proprietary Moa Gamma™ platform, Moa has discerned hundreds of potential Amplifier compounds, with several already exhibiting robust performance in glasshouse trials. Notably, two candidates have shown promise in proof-of-concept field trials conducted in Australia and the UK.

Currently, Moa is collaborating with various partners, including Certis Belchim and Gowan, to align leading Amplifier candidates with specific active ingredients in commercial herbicides. Although specifics remain confidential, the company asserts that this adaptability paves the way for targeting various crops, regions, and weed species.

“Since Amplifiers do not all focus on the same plant pathway, we enjoy considerable flexibility in which herbicidal ingredients they can be paired with and the specific weeds we can address,” explained Moa’s head of corporate affairs to AgTechNavigator.

As Moa Amplifiers are non-herbicidal on their own, ongoing discussions will be necessary to clarify regulatory pathways. Moa anticipates that these deliberations will influence commercialisation timelines in the forthcoming years.
