SFPA Issues Information Notice to Trade Registration for Exports of Fishery Products from Ireland to India
The Sea-Fisheries Protection Authority (SFPA) has recently issued an Information Notice to industry regarding the registration of Food Business Operators for exporting fishery products from Ireland to India. The SFPA aims to address the technical requirements for Irish companies engaging in trade with India within an evolving third country regulatory environment.
The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has stipulated that Irish exporters must be registered with the Indian Competent Authority to export consignments of fish, fishery products, and molluscan shellfish to India.
The SFPA is actively compiling a list of SFPA Approved establishments that meet the necessary criteria for export to India.
If an SFPA Approved Establishment is interested in being included on the export list for India, they can reach out via email to SFPATradeandAudit@sfpa.ie.
