USDA Crop Progress Report: Key Updates for June 2025
Today, the USDA released its ninth Crop Progress report for the 2025 growing season. This report provides valuable insights into the current status of corn, soybeans, wheat, and oats across the United States.
Corn Update
As of June 1, an impressive 93% of the corn crop in the top 18 corn-growing states has been planted, aligning perfectly with the five-year average. Additionally, 78% of the corn crop has emerged, slightly surpassing the five-year average of 77%.

Soybean Update
The USDA reports that, as of June 1, 84% of the soybean crop across the leading soybean-growing states has been planted, ahead of the five-year average of 80%. Furthermore, 63% of the soybean crop has emerged, beating the five-year average of 57%.

Winter Wheat Update
The USDA found that 83% of the winter wheat crop in the top 18 states had headed by June 1, surpassing the five-year average of 79%. The winter wheat harvest has commenced in six states, with 3% completion, matching the five-year average for this time of year.

- Good/Excellent: 52%
- Fair: 30%
- Poor/Very Poor: 18%
Spring Wheat Update
In the top six spring wheat-growing states, 95% of the crop had been planted as of June 1, ahead of the five-year average of 90%. Furthermore, 73% of the spring wheat crop has emerged, which is four points ahead of the five-year average.

- Fair: 37%
- Poor/Very Poor: 13%
Oats Update
Across the nine top oat-growing states, 97% of the planting is complete, thus exceeding the five-year average of 95%. As of June 1, 86% of the oat crop had emerged, which is two points ahead of the five-year average.

- Poor/Very Poor: 14%
