Supporting Our Heroes: Southeastern Grocers Partners with USO
Southeastern Grocers (SEG) has announced a heartfelt initiative in collaboration with DLJ Produce, pledging to donate 5 cents to the United Service Organizations (USO) for every pound of Razzle Dazzle Premium Grapes sold until Veterans Day, with a cap of $50,000. This campaign aims to support the well-being of the 2.5 million veterans residing in the Southeast—a region housing one of the largest military populations in the United States.
Empowering Military Families
“Part of serving our communities means standing firmly with those who serve our country,” shared Dewayne Rabon, SEG’s Chief Merchandising Officer. “This partnership gives our customers a simple yet powerful way to show their gratitude, turning the everyday act of buying fresh grapes into meaningful support for military families.”
About Razzle Dazzle Premium Grapes
Razzle Dazzle Premium Grapes are sold in an assortment of varieties: red (Razzle), green (Dazzle), black (Snazzle), and mixed seedless varieties (Razzle Dazzle). Every purchase contributes to supporting the USO’s mission, which encompasses vital programs such as care packages, military spouse support, youth programs, and recreation opportunities for active duty, National Guard, and Reserve service members and their families.
Commitment to Community
“This partnership with Southeastern Grocers highlights our shared commitment to honoring those who serve,” remarked Bill Coombs, president of DLJ Produce. “We’re proud to see our harvest become a source of nourishment and connection for the families who sacrifice so much. Every bunch sold is a small but meaningful way to say ‘thank you.’”
Also noteworthy is SEG’s previous collaboration with the USO, where they arranged a “surprise and delight” experience for military moms and spouses around Mother’s Day. Furthermore, the grocer has consistently honored veterans through various community gatherings, such as a Veterans Day breakfast in Jacksonville, Florida.
Pillars of Support: Folds of Honor
In its commitment to support military families, SEG has made significant contributions to the Folds of Honor organization, donating over $8.3 million since 2018. This generous funding has provided over 1,660 educational scholarships for the children and spouses of fallen and disabled service members.
