PSA Welcomes New Team Members to Foster Global Growth
The Poultry Science Association (PSA) is thrilled to announce the appointment of two new staff members, reinforcing its dedication to advancing scientific meetings, international collaboration, and enhanced member services.
Jenny Paul: Conference Programs Coordinator
Joining the PSA team as the new Conference Programs Coordinator is Jenny Paul. In her new role, Paul will play a pivotal part in planning and executing the Association’s meetings and academic programs, which include managing abstracts, symposia planning, student award coordination, and providing essential support to various committees.
Originally hailing from Mattoon, Illinois, Jenny holds a degree in Special Education from Eastern Illinois University. With a strong organizational mindset and a keen eye for process improvement, she is eager to familiarize herself with PSA’s systems and priorities while enhancing communication and consistency in conference planning.
Cara Tharp: Director of International Conferences & Events
PSA is equally excited to welcome Cara Tharp as the new Director of International Conferences and Events. In this strategic position, Tharp will be at the helm of efforts to expand and refine PSA’s international scientific conferences and global engagement strategies, overseeing logistics, programming, and the overall growth of PSA’s worldwide meeting portfolio.
A native of Sedalia, Missouri, and raised in southwest Arizona, Tharp now calls Champaign-Urbana home. She graduated with a degree in Liberal Arts/General Studies and a minor in Psychology from Eastern Illinois University. A self-proclaimed foodie who loves creative cooking—especially charcuterie—Tharp brings her enthusiasm for international collaboration and enriching member experiences to PSA, aiming to further the Association’s scientific and educational mission.
“I am very excited to expand the reach of PSA within our international conference portfolio,” said Tharp. “I look forward to collaborating with colleagues and members across the globe to deliver impactful scientific programming and foster meaningful global partnerships.”
Commitment to Global Collaboration and Growth
“These appointments reflect PSA’s ambitious vision and commitment to supporting the global poultry science community with excellence,” stated PSA Executive Director Andy Vance. “The energy and dedication of Jenny, paired with Cara’s global perspective and event expertise, will bolster our capacity to host high-quality scientific meetings and enhance our international collaboration.”
With their fresh insights, enthusiasm, and expertise, Paul and Tharp are set to enhance PSA’s ability to serve its members, expand its global footprint, and provide world-class scientific programming and events.
