The feeder steers also fell 5c to 9c, while feeder heifers dropped by 12c per kilogram. The sale prices for feeder steers ranged from 400c to 498c, with feeder heifers selling between 356c to 456c/kg. In contrast, young cattle for restockers remained stable to a bit higher, with young steers reaching 530c and restocker heifers achieving 434c/kg.
Grown Cattle Performance
The market saw grown steers finish 12c stronger, while grown heifers were 15c down in price. Prime grown steers were sold from 420c to 476c, and prime grown heifers ranged from 380c to 435c/kg.
Cow and Bull Sales
On the cow front, secondary cows were marked down up to 30c, whereas prime heavy weights declined by 12c/kg. Two and three score cows meant for processors sold between 250c to 362c/kg. Prime heavy weight cows averaged 370c/kg, with restockers spending up to 354c, while feeders bought at prices ranging from 315c to 365c/kg. Bulls were sold at 408c/kg.
