His passion for genetics ignited during a university population genetics course, ultimately guiding him towards a Ph.D. in genetics. His career path led him to manage the USDA salmon selective breeding program in Maine, where he concentrated on key areas such as cryopreservation, trait optimization, and genetic diversity—all aimed at enhancing breeding efficiency and promoting sustainability.
