The Field & Fork Network proudly announces that its Double Up Food Bucks NY (DUFBNY) program has exceeded one million transactions since its inception in 2014. This remarkable milestone includes over 500,000 transactions in 2025 alone, coinciding with grocery prices that remain approximately 30 percent higher than levels recorded in February 2020, amid ongoing food hardship across New York state.

Supporting Nutrition for Families

DUFBNY offers a valuable, free dollar-for-dollar match on SNAP purchases of eligible fresh fruits and vegetables, capping at $20 per day for grocery store purchases and $50 per day for farm-direct locations. Originally piloted at just seven farmers markets, the program has now expanded to over 320 locations across 53 of New York’s 57 counties, providing essential support to more than 590,000 households—nearly 1.1 million individuals—who depend on SNAP benefits.

Strategic Growth and Infrastructure

The growth of the DUFBNY program over the past decade is largely attributed to significant investments in point-of-sale (POS) infrastructure. The program now utilizes five POS options and integrates with automated grocery coupon systems, offering eligible shoppers a seamless experience where they can receive incentives through standard EBT transactions with no additional steps necessary at checkout.
