Strong Week for Cattle Sales at Dubbo Auction

Young Cattle Insights
Although limited numbers of young cattle for trade were noted, prices demonstrated varied trends. Prime vealers and yearlings fetched prices ranging from 374c to 439c per kilogram. For feeder steers, there was a modest increase of 10 cents, while feeder heifers saw a decrease of 15 cents—with feeder steers priced between 382c and 518c and feeder heifers from 356c to 456c per kilogram. Restockers experienced a tender market with young steers reaching up to 538c and young restocker heifers selling for 416c per kilogram.
Grown Cattle Trends
When examining the grown cattle market, steers reflected a price increase of 6 cents, while grown heifers noted a decline of 11 to 14 cents as a result of quality variations. Prime grown steers ranged from 434c to 474c, whereas prime grown heifers were sold at 410c to 440c per kilogram. Secondary cows remained stable, yet prime heavyweights dropped by 15 cents. The price range for 2 and 3 score cows to processors was recorded at 280c to 390c, while prime heavyweights sold for 370c to 406c to average 395c per kilogram. Cows aimed at restockers ranged from 245c to 410c per kilogram, while heavy bulls pushed prices higher with sales peaking at 433c per kilogram.
