Initially focusing on fungal diseases in soybeans—where approximately 30-35% of acres are already treated for such issues—InnerPlant recognizes that as much as 60% of acreage may require some form of disease management. Looking ahead, the company plans to test its technology on corn in 2026, broadening its scope within the agricultural sector.
In addition, InnerPlant is exploring opportunities to expand its technology internationally, with a keen interest in markets like Brazil. Schaefer emphasized the importance of thorough market research and understanding the unique challenges faced by farmers in these regions before entering. “We must first understand Brazil’s agricultural landscape, the farmers’ needs, and craft a suitable growth and penetration strategy that aligns with the market’s distinct characteristics,” he explained.
