Loveland Products Expands Adjuvant Portfolio with Weather Gard Elite
Loveland Products is marking the end of 2025 by enhancing its adjuvant offerings with the introduction of Weather Gard Elite. This new product sets the stage for a near-term rollout of nearly 20 additional products in 2026, reinforcing the company’s commitment to innovation in crop inputs.
Introducing Weather Gard Elite
Weather Gard Elite serves as a water conditioner, boasting five key modes of action. These functionalities include:
- Conditioning water for herbicide application
- Enhancing deposition and penetration on plant surfaces
- Adjusting droplet size to minimize drift
- Incorporating an anti-foaming agent
Drew Butler, manager of Loveland Products’ adjuvant portfolio, emphasized that the new product underwent rigorous testing, including small plot trials and split-plot replications, to demonstrate its effectiveness.
In field trials conducted in Renville, Minnesota, Weather Gard Elite achieved a notable 45% spray coverage, outperforming its predecessors, which had a coverage rate of 42% during the 2025 assessments.
Building on Previous Innovations
Weather Gard Elite builds on the success of two existing adjuvants: Weather Gard Complete and Strike Force, tailored for glyphosate and D-traited crops, respectively. Butler explained that the new product effectively addresses viscosity and packaging difficulties encountered with earlier versions.
“We developed a single formula compatible with major herbicide active ingredients. Our earlier products, especially Weather Gard Complete, presented challenges due to their high viscosity, complicating handling from bulk storage.” Butler noted that the new formula is significantly less viscous, making it easier to manage in both totes and bulk storage options.
Looking Ahead to 2026
Loveland Products is setting a robust agenda for 2026, following a successful product launch calendar in 2025. Notably, in September, the company unveiled Extract XC, a microbial-based input designed to release nutrients from crop residue for upcoming planting seasons. Furthermore, Loveland reached a key milestone with its fertilizer biocatalyst Titan XC, which was utilized across 100 million acres in North America.
“We anticipate the launch of around 20 new products across various categories in the coming year, contingent on regulatory approvals,” Butler elaborated, signaling an exciting future for Loveland Products and its customers.
