Grain Market Overview

As of the latest trading session, March corn recorded a decline, closing down 3¼ cents at $4.36½ per bushel. January soybeans also faced a downward trend, finishing down 9 cents at $10.62¾ per bushel. In the wheat sector, March CBOT wheat fell 11¼ cents to close at $5.09½ per bushel. Meanwhile, March Kansas City wheat dropped by 7 cents, settling at $5.05 per bushel, and March Minneapolis wheat decreased by 3¾ cents, closing at $5.65¼.

<h2>Factors Impacting Prices</h2>
<p>The Grain Market Insider newsletter, produced by Stewart-Peterson Inc., reported that corn futures have experienced a downward trend due to significant selling pressure within the wheat and soybean markets. The newsletter noted, “Corn futures moved lower on Tuesday, weighed down by heavy selling in the wheat and soybean markets.”</p>

<p>On the soybean front, fund selling has caused prices to drop for a third consecutive session. “Soybeans closed lower for a third straight session as fund selling persisted, with March futures filling the $10.76 gap and extending losses beyond that level,” the newsletter stated.</p>

<p>Wheat prices also faced pressure, affected by the decline in Paris milling wheat futures reaching new lows. The newsletter highlighted that “wheat closed moderately lower, pressured by Paris milling wheat futures making new lows and spillover weakness from the corn and soybean markets.”</p>

<h2>Livestock Market Highlights</h2>
<p>In livestock trading, March feeder cattle saw an increase, closing up $2.75 at <strong>$337.60</strong> per hundredweight (cwt). February live cattle also experienced a rise, ending up 15 cents at <strong>$230.70</strong> per cwt. Conversely, February lean hogs increased by 93 cents, closing at <strong>$84.78</strong> per cwt.</p>
