SOUTHERN processors were a notable buying presence as 2,500 Central Australian milk and two-tooth steers went up for sale at the 2025 Alice Springs Combined Agents Show Sale on Thursday.
Highlights from the Sale
Among the standout offerings were Hereford steers averaging 450kg from Undoolya Holdings, which sold for an impressive $4.54/kg. Additional quality lines showcased included:
- 460 head of Santa cross and Charolais cross steers from Huckitta Station
- 280 Droughtmaster steers from Garden Station
- 220 Santa cross steers from Pine Hill Station
Conducted with the StockLive live interface, the sale attracted strong local demand as well as interest from online buyers. A notable amount of cattle was purchased by the Teys operations at Charlton in Victoria, which acquired 352 head, achieving a top price of $4.46/kg for a line of Angus steers sourced from Palmer Valley Station.
Interstate Interest and Significant Purchases
A significant result came from an interstate buyer, ABLCo, a new participant in Central Australia, which purchased 118 head of quality Santa cows from Sandover Pastoral.
Other large processors and feedlots were active online, including Roxborough Ag, which purchased feeder steers for as high as $1,353 per head. The volume buyer of the sale was GDL Dalby, securing a total of 524 head, supported by GDL Alice Springs with an additional 253 head.
