USPOULTRY and USPOULTRY Foundation Allocate $380,000 for Poultry Research Grants
USPOULTRY and the USPOULTRY Foundation have recently approved $380,000 in research grants to support innovative projects in the poultry industry. The funding, authorized by the boards of both organizations based on recommendations from the Foundation Research Advisory Committee (FRAC), aims to advance key areas of poultry and egg production.
Established in the early 1960s, the Comprehensive Research Program has evolved to encompass a wide range of research initiatives, including disease prevention, production optimization, and processing techniques. To date, over $37 million (adjusted for inflation, $65 million) has been reinvested into the industry through research grants, benefiting more than 50 universities and research facilities.
Jonathan Cade, Chair of USPOULTRY, emphasized the importance of research in driving innovation within the poultry sector. He acknowledged the dedication of the FRAC members who diligently evaluate proposals to determine their potential impact on industry progress.
