Survey Highlights Growing Interest in Beef for Christmas Dinner
A recent survey conducted by The Harris Poll on behalf of Redner’s Markets reveals a noteworthy trend: over half of Americans who usually skip beef for Christmas dinner (54 percent) are open to the idea of incorporating it this year. This suggests that the traditional holiday menu may be evolving.
Currently, around 43 percent of Americans do serve beef as a main dish during Christmas celebrations. Among those, nearly half cite a desire for a break from typical holiday meats (44 percent) or the ease of preparation (39 percent) as key reasons for their choice.
For those choosing not to include beef, significant factors influence their decision. Cost remains a primary concern for 27 percent, while 22 percent appreciate the diversity of breaking from traditional meats. Additionally, 19 percent choose not to serve beef for reasons of convenience.
In response to this shifting dynamic, Redner’s Markets is launching its bone-in strip roast, now available at all Redner’s Warehouse and Fresh Markets locations through Christmas. The offering is designed to cater to holiday hosts seeking a balance between quality and affordability.
“As we engage with our customers, it’s evident that the holiday table is evolving,” remarked Ryan Redner, president and CEO of Redner’s Markets. “While people desire meals that feel festive, they also seek options that align with their budgets, schedules, and tastes. Our priority is to provide straightforward solutions for refreshing beloved traditions.”
To assist home cooks, Redner’s has developed a comprehensive resource hub at rednersmarkets.com/steaks. This platform offers cooking tips and preparation guidance aimed at making holiday hosting more manageable.
