Roger Berkowitz Launches New Seafood Concept at Logan Airport
US restaurateur Roger Berkowitz is set to bring a fresh foodservice concept to Logan Airport in Boston, Massachusetts.
Introducing “Roger’s Fish & Chips”
Recently, the Boston Licensing Board granted Berkowitz approval for his new seafood eatery, aptly named “Roger’s Fish & Chips,” located in Terminal A. This exciting development was reported by Universal Hub.
A Legacy in Seafood
Berkowitz is well known for his role as CEO of Legal Sea Foods, a family-owned venture he guided from 1992 until its sale in 2020 to PPX Hospitality Brands. In 2023, he ventured into the online space, launching a new frozen seafood e-commerce company while retaining the rights to the Legal Sea Foods name.
A Shift in Dining Experience
Unlike the traditional white tablecloth dining experience associated with Legal Sea Foods, “Roger’s Fish & Chips” is designed as a quick-service restaurant. Nonetheless, it will continue to honor the classic clam chowder that patrons have come to cherish.
Meeting Market Demands
“There’s a need for an iconic quick-service restaurant,” stated Richard Heller, Berkowitz’s attorney, during the licensure hearing on August 6. The new establishment will feature a counter for customers to place their orders and share a food court with other dining options.
Berkowitz explained that the rising costs attributed to labor and supply-chain issues have prompted him to explore this innovative concept. By eliminating the need for waitstaff, he aims to deliver high-quality food at a more accessible price point.
Anticipation and Future Plans
As of now, an official opening date for “Roger’s Fish & Chips” in Terminal A has not been confirmed, but excitement is building for this new venture.
