The market at Roma Saleyards remained competitive despite a reduced yarding of just under 7,300 head of cattle. Laneways were bustling with regular processors, feedlotters, and backgrounders actively bidding throughout the chilly day, leading to a price increase across all categories.
Cattle Supply Sources
Cattle were primarily sourced from the local supply district, with contributions from Roma, Mitchell, Wallumbilla, Injune, Taroom, and Morven. Additionally, cattle from the northern regions, including Mount Isa and Longreach, well as far south as Middleton and Marla in South Australia, were present. This variety underscored Roma Saleyards’ reputation as the marketplace of choice.
