SeaFest Peterhead Returns This Weekend!
Join us this weekend for SeaFest Peterhead, the highly anticipated seafood festival that drew in around 10,000 attendees during its inaugural event in 2023. Scheduled to take place at Peterhead Harbour, the festival promises to be bigger and better this year.
Event Details
The festival will be held on Saturday, September 13, 2025, from 11 AM to 4 PM. This year, the event’s footprint has nearly doubled, showcasing a larger area at Seagate, Peterhead Harbour. You can find more information on the official website: SeaFest Peterhead.
Celebrating Local Seafood
As an award-winning family-friendly event, SeaFest champions the importance of Aberdeenshire’s seafood industry. Peterhead, known as Europe’s largest whitefish port, along with Fraserburgh, Scotland’s major shellfish hub, will take center stage during the festival.
Activities for Families
Children will have a blast with a variety of free activities. They’ll enjoy face painting, Emma’s Pet Fair, ARC cinema giveaways, and a sticker trail. Don’t miss the chance to meet water rescue dogs, Yogi and Cindy Bears!
Interactive Seafood Village
A new seafood village will celebrate local seafood offerings, featuring top-notch chef demonstrations by the team at ESS. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn tips and tricks from some of the region’s best culinary talents, with a special segment hosted by the Marine Stewardship Council.
Fishing Skills on Display
Look out for festival favorites such as the trawler Favonius, selling freshly caught seafood on Birnie’s Pier. Additionally, crews from the Forever Faithful and Budding Rose will demonstrate their trawling skills, alongside a wheelhouse simulator for those wanting to test their skipper abilities.
Market and Food Options
Food lovers will rejoice as over 60 vendors gather for the producer’s market, showcasing local flavors and craftsmanship. Street food trucks will offer a range of delicious hot and cold food options.
Boat Tours and Education
As a festival-first, boat tours will be offered by Intermara, departing from The Blue Light Zone on Ice Factory Pier, courtesy of Scottish Power Renewables. Attendees can also explore RNLI lifeboats and enjoy displays from emergency services.
