“Nutrition management is central to poultry production, and feed and water are at the core of my research,” said Maharjan. “If it’s not done right, birds cannot reach their genetic potential and producers lose efficiency.”

At Texas A&M, Maharjan will spearhead applied research initiatives focused on poultry drinking water quality and enhance feed ingredient evaluation. Through this, he aims to better understand nutritional variabilities and digestibility values in chickens. Previously, Maharjan held the role of Assistant Professor and Extension Specialist at Tennessee State University. His academic background includes a master’s degree and a doctorate in poultry science from the University of Arkansas.
