Weekly Cattle Market Update: Rebounding Listings and Strong Buyer Confidence
Among larger lines sold this week, these 154 Brangus weaned steers, weighing 258kg at 5-9 months from Tambo, Western Queensland, made 368c/kg or $950 a head.
This week saw a significant rebound in cattle listings, surpassing 20,000 head, more than doubling from the previous week due to the shortened Easter selling period. The current clearance rate improved to 59%, marking a 10 percentage point increase compared to last week. This uptick is indicative of rising buyer confidence amid a larger offering.

Notably, the demand for NSM cows and calves surged, increasing by $805 per pair to average $2,305, with 58% of the 546 head sold. However, prices for PTIC heifers dropped significantly due to a substantial offering of 1,295 that cleared only 10% of the catalogue, averaging $1,759, down $308 from last week.
