Public Consultation on GLOBALG.A.P. Benchmarking by GSSI
The Global Sustainable Seafood Initiative (GSSI) has announced a public consultation focused on the benchmarking process of GLOBALG.A.P. under the newly updated Global Benchmark Tool version 2.0. This consultation will be open for public input for a period of 30 days, inviting stakeholders to share their thoughts and insights.
Overview of the GLOBALG.A.P. Consultation
Since its first recognition in 2018 under the GSSI Global Benchmark Tool version 1.0, GLOBALG.A.P. has been a key player in setting aquaculture standards. The organization is now moving forward with a benchmarking evaluation of its Integrated Farm Assurance Aquaculture (version 6.1) to achieve recognition under version 2.0 of the Global Benchmark Tool.
Community Engagement in Benchmarking Process
GSSI emphasizes the importance of transparency and public engagement in its benchmarking process. Stakeholders and interested parties are encouraged to submit their comments and feedback through the designated form linked below. This feedback will play a crucial role in shaping the future of the benchmarking methodology.
Review and Final Recommendations
After the consultation period concludes, the Independent Experts and Benchmark Committee will meticulously review all submitted comments. The feedback will be instrumental in forming a final recommendation, which will then be presented to the GSSI Steering Board for consideration. All public comments will be made accessible after the final decision regarding continued recognition has been reached.
