Market Overview

Cattle Prices Breakdown
Steers
Light yearling steers saw a decrease of 5c/kg, settling between 338c to 408c/kg. Meanwhile, feeder steers weighing up to 330kgs gained 5c/kg, now priced between 364c to 390c/kg. However, medium feeder steers dropped by 6c/kg, with prices ranging from 320c to 500c/kg. For feeder steers over 480kgs, prices fell 21c/kg, now between 376c to 474c/kg, while those over 480kgs ranged from 358c to 490c/kg.
Heifers
Light background heifers lost 5c/kg, priced between 320c to 348c/kg. Interestingly, feeder heifers weighing up to 330kgs saw a gain of 28c/kg, with prices now at 342c to 362c/kg. Medium feeder heifers dropped by 14c/kg, sitting between 300c to 390c/kg. Conversely, medium processor heifers showed strength, selling between 280c to 415c/kg, while heavy feeders ranged from 288c to 415c/kg.
Other Livestock
Heavy grown steers intended for processing increased in price from 340c to 394c/kg, with corresponding heifers rising by 3c/kg, now reaching 370c/kg. Heavy three and four score cows improved by 4c to 8c/kg, priced between 250c to 358c/kg. Lastly, heavy bulls also showed slight gains, currently priced between 280c to 334c/kg.
