Six Poultry Facilities Honored with Safety & Health Award at IPPE 2025
The Joint Industry Safety & Health Council recently awarded six poultry facilities with the prestigious Frank Cruice Innovation in Safety & Health Award during the 2025 International Production & Processing Expo (IPPE). These facilities were recognized for their outstanding commitment to operational excellence and innovation in promoting safety and health within their operations.
According to Allan Foy, the corporate director of safety at Farbest Foods and chair of the Joint Poultry Industry Safety & Health Council, “It is inspiring to witness companies introducing creative and effective initiatives to enhance safety within their operations, and we are proud to acknowledge these six organizations for their commitment to this important goal.”
The six facilities that received this distinguished award are as follows:
- Tyson Foods, Monett, MO, Processing Plant
- Case Farms, Winesburg, OH, Processing Plant
- Culver Duck Farms, Middlebury, IN, Processing Plant
- Farbest Foods, Vincennes, IN, Processing Plant
- Darling Ingredients, Las Vegas, NV, Facility
- Perdue Farms, Concord, NC, Processing Facility
The Frank Cruice Innovation in Safety & Health Award, named in honor of Frank Cruice, a retired senior director of corporate safety and security for Perdue, recognizes innovative advancements in safety and health within the poultry industry. Award applications were evaluated in various industry categories including Poultry Processing, Poultry & Egg Production, Animal Feed Manufacturing, Animal Support Services, and Rendering. Awards were given for both process-based and equipment-based innovations, with winners selected by a panel of judges.
The Joint Industry Safety & Health Council comprises members from the U.S. Poultry & Egg Association, National Chicken Council, and National Turkey Federation. Together, these organizations represent companies responsible for producing 95% of the nation’s poultry products and employing over 350,000 workers.
