This facility is poised to revolutionize the delivery of medical products and pharmaceuticals along the East Coast.

The new distribution center is strategically situated near major highways, enhancing its logistical capabilities. It features temperature-controlled areas designed specifically for sensitive medicines, ensuring that products are stored and transported under optimal conditions. The facility will also integrate solar power systems and electric vehicle charging stations, reflecting DHL’s commitment to sustainability.

Enhancing Customs Processes

Once operational later this year, the Annville center will function as a Foreign Trade Zone. This will facilitate quicker customs processes and help mitigate potential tariff delays, a significant advantage as pharmaceutical companies navigate shifting trade dynamics.

Recently, the company acquired SDS Rx, a U.S. delivery firm with over 200 local branches specializing in healthcare and final-mile delivery. This acquisition allows DHL to broaden its service offerings to specialty pharmacies, long-term care facilities, and hospital systems.

“Final-mile delivery is a critical component of the healthcare logistics ecosystem,” Kunar remarked following the completion of the SDS Rx acquisition. “With SDS Rx now integrated into our network, we are well-positioned to serve health systems, care centers, and patients with precision, speed, and care.”
